Ms Nkomo is a development economist, gender equity & inclusion expert, seasoned social scientist with extensive experience on ESG. Ms Nkomo is a former Economic Advisor at Department of Public Enterprise and Economic Development,

She has held various portfolios throughout her professional career, spanning from being an economic advisor, public policy advocacy work, legislative development, public-private sector collaboration, grant -making and founder of women’s economic rights groups. Ms Nkomo is a co-founder of Women’s Economic Assembly and Gender Based Violence and Femicide Response Fund. She has recently been admitted as Research Fellow at University of Johannesburg.

Ms Nkomo is a strategic thinker whose opinion is often sought for media analysis & public speaking in conferences on Macroeconomics policy in South Africa, Africa & globally , Economic Inclusion, Gender Equity, Rural Development, labour market policies and Industrial Development.

She is the founder of Abantu for Global Equity, an economic justice organisation which looks women’s economic development, Gender based Violence and Femicide and economic inclusion of people living in rural communities and citizens facing urban poverty as well as Gender Equity in the workplace
